Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing Attends the Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of China-Samoa Diplomatic Relations and the handover of China Aid Primary Schools Project

On November 21, Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing attended the Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of China-Samoa Diplomatic Relations and the handover of China Aid Primary Schools Project. Over 200 guests were present, including His Highness Head of State Tuimalealiifano Vaaletoa Sualauvi II, Honorable Deputy Prime Minister Mulipola Anarosa Ale Molioo, cabinet ministers, parliament members, and friends from all walks of life.

Ambassador Fei highlighted the development of bilateral relations over the past 50 years, acknowledged Samoa for its long-term resolute adherence to the one-China principle, and stressed that China is willing to deepenthe alignment between the Belt and Road Initiative and “the Pathway for the Development of Samoa”, work together to build an even closer comprehensive strategic partnership, and jointly contributing to building a community with a shared future for humanity.

Deputy Prime Minister Mulipola reaffirmed Samoas consistent adherence to the one-China principle as the foundation of the Samoa-China diplomatic relations, extended sincere acknowledgement of the Government and people of Samoa to the Government and people of China for continued friendship and assistance, wishing the friendship between the two countries last forever.

On behalf of the Chinese side, Ambassador Fei handed over the three primary school project to the Samoan government, and jointly unveiled the commemorative stamps of the 50th anniversary of China-Samoa diplomatic ties with Minister of Education and Culture Aiono.

Artists from both countries held a gala celebrating the 50th Anniversary of China-Samoa diplomatic relations at the Samoa Culture and Arts Center.
