On February 13, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing attended the Spring Festival Reception in the Chinese Embassy. Among distinguished guests are Deputy Prime Minister Honorable Toelupe Maoiautele Poumulinuku Onesemo, cabinet ministers, and members of parliament, diplomatic corps and the local Chinese community.

Ambassador Fei extended New Year greetings to the guests, stressed that China will continue working with Samoa to build an even closer China-Samoa community with a shared future.

Deputy Prime Minister Toelupe on behalf of Samoan government and people, extended New Year greetings to the Chinese government and people, reaffriming that Samoa firmly adheres to the one-China policy and will continuously develop cooperation with China and further advance bilateral relations.

The event also featured the premiere of a commemorative song marking the 50th anniversary of China-Samoa diplomatic relations, with performances by Samoan youth, members of the Chinese community and embassy staff. Also showcased are traditional cultural experience zones with paper-cutting and calligraphy, and the produce display by SCATAP ( Samoa-China Agricultural Technical Aid Project) experts.
