Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing Attends the Celebration of International Museum Day 2026

On May 18, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing attended the celebration of International Museum Day (IMD) 2026 at the Museum of Samoa. Among 60 attendees were Afioga Leatigaga Matafai Lauina I'iga, Associate Minister of Education and Culture, and representatives from the cultural and educational sectors of Samoa.

Ambassador Fei congratulated on the successful opening of the celebration, commended the museums’ role in promoting dialogue among civilizations and bridging differences and divisions. He noted that China will continue to implement the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, promoting mutual learning and exchanges between the two countries.

Afioga Leatigaga expressed gratitude to Chinese Embassy for jointly celebrating IMD with Samoa, and hoped that scholars and youth representatives would engage in dialogue and exchanges during the event, contributing to the inheritance and preservation of cultural heritage and helping build a more open and inclusive world.

Following the opening ceremony, Professor Wen Haiming from the International Confucian Association delivered a lecture on Chinese culture upon invitation.
