On June 1, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing delivered a video address to congratulate Samoa on its 64th Independence Day. Ambassador Fei extended congratulations to the Samoan government and people for the remarkable economic and social development achievements that Samoa has made through unity and overcoming challenges since its independence. Highlighting that Samoa is one of the first Pacific island countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, Ambassador Fei expressed China’s willingness to work with the Samoan side to bring more tangible benefits to our two countries and two peoples.
