On July 28, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Samoa held the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Chinese Medical Team in Samoa and the handover of Team 24 & Team 25. Chinese Ambassador Fei Mingxing and Samoan Minister of Health Vaaaoao Salumalo Alofipo attended and delivered remarks, joined by Associate Minister Motupua Seve Henny Papalii, Director General June, as well as professionals from the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital and Chinese Medical Team members.

Ambassador Fei reviewed the 40-year history of China’s medical mission to Samoa, thanked the Samoan government for its support, praised the outgoing 24th team’s work, and encouraged the incoming 25th team to make further contributions to promote China-Samoan friendship and the health of the Samoan people.

Minister Vaaaoao expressed gratitude for China’s sustained assistance to Samoan healthcare development, presented certificates to the departing team members, welcomed the new specialists, and hoped for continued and deepened cooperation to extend benefits to Samoan people.
